Transcription and written translation
Transcription records speech as text; translation changes it into another language. Tell us whether you need the source-language transcript, the translated text or both. Specify whether speaker labels and timestamps are needed. Where appropriate, certification can be provided for the completed written translation, with the scope agreed before work begins.
Subtitles for video
Subtitles need to work with the timing of the recording as well as its meaning. Say whether you already have a transcript or timed subtitle file and whether you need a separate subtitle file or another delivery format. Include any platform or formatting requirements. Translating subtitle text and preparing a finished video file are different tasks and should be scoped explicitly.
Voiceover and translated overlay
For translated audio, explain how the output will be used and whether the original speech needs to remain audible. Timing, pronunciation, the intended audience and the technical output all affect the work. Voiceover or overlay scope and availability are agreed individually; they are not automatically included in a written translation quotation.
What affects the quotation
Provide the recording duration, language pair, subject matter, number of speakers and requested output. Background noise, overlapping speech and specialist terminology can add review work. A transcript supplied by you can be useful, but tell us whether it has been checked against the recording. Unclear speech should not be guessed to make a transcript appear complete.
Upload or share a large file
Use the audio/video option in the quotation form. Upload directly where the file meets the limits shown in the form; for larger material, use its external-link option and ensure the file is accessible for review. Provide only material relevant to the request and flag any handling restrictions. Confirm price, turnaround and delivery format before approving the work.
From enquiry to delivery
- Upload the material and explain its intended use and your deadline.
- Review the quotation, confirmed scope and turnaround.
- Approve and pay through the secure payment process.
- The translation is prepared and reviewed before secure delivery.
